Dr. Mehta’s research program focuses on the role of innate immunity and inflammation in the development of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Using a trans-disciplinary approach that involves genetic epidemiology, translational medicine, and novel cardiovascular imaging approaches, Dr. Mehta and his team study how inflammation affects insulin resistance, the development of metabolic syndrome, and lipoprotein dysfunction, all of which are risk factors for atherosclerosis and subsequent cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Research Interest: Directed Toward the Idenfication of Bioactive Compound, the Total Synthesis, and Structural Modification of Natural Products from Chinese Herds, Drug Design and Synthesis Based on Natural Lead Compounds, Mechanism Study of Natural Products, Peptide Investigation Initiated from Natural Resources, the Interface of Organic Chemistry and Cell Biology.

Research Interest: Metabolomics Studies, Particularly on the Fetal-Neonatal Nutrition and Prevention of Chronic Diseases in Adults such as Obesity, Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome.

Dr. Ahed J Alkhatib is currently working as a researcher in Department of Forensic Science and Toxicology, Jordan University of Sciences and Technology, Jordon from 2011 to till date. He completed his PhD in Campbell University, medical technology, North Carolina, USA from 2008 to 2011. Dr. Ahed J Alkhatib is a member of council of nutritional and environmental disease (CONEM). He is conducting research that generates new theories. Dr. Ahed J Alkhatib has done 116 Publications. He is establishing new science (molecular sociology).

China Diabetes Impact Study is funded by IDF and technically supported by Division of Diabetes Translation of CDC. It is a follow-up study of China National Diabetes and Metabolic Disorder Study. A total of 12 study sites participated in the China Diabetes Impact Study. I am the national program coordinator and the investigator of Beijing study site. All study participants with DM, NDM and IGR were interviewed and collected information about their health care service use, medical expenditure, etc.
