Dr.
Xia received a PhD degree in clinical medicine from Tongji Medical College of
Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China in 2013. Following her
doctoral studies, she undertook residency training and was subsequently
appointed as an attending doctor in Ophthalmology at Wuhan Union Hospital,
China, in 2016.In 2017, she started her 4-year postdoctoral training in
Ophthalmology at University of Texas Medical Branch. Her dedication and
contributions in the field were recognized when she was promoted to the
position of instructor in 2021 and further promoted to assistant professor in
2023. Dr. Xia’s research interests include glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, aging-related
neurodegeneration and more.
